“This order shows the versatility of our Portable Orbital Drilling system.” says Hans-Petter Anderson, Novator’s CEO. “With relatively small means, our standard Portable Orbital drilling units can be modified to meet the requirements of a specific application.”
The Orbital Portable M-Series is based on Novator's patented Orbital Drilling™ technique that enables drilling of holes with high quality and finish while reducing the machine inventory and the cutting times. Orbital DrillingTM is a drilling technique where the cutter is revolving in a mechanically forced eccentric movement while simultaneously rotating around its own axis. In Orbital DrillingTM, the thrust force is very low which results in higher hole quality and is one of the factors that opens up for dry drilling. Dry drilling makes coolant obsolete and reduces environmental and health hazards.
About Novator
Novator is a high-tech engineering company focused on providing efficient drilling solutions based on, but not limited to, the patented Orbital DrillingTM technology. Novator’s Orbital DrillingTM technology is designed to meet tomorrow’s production requirements for customers working with advanced and complex materials, mainly within the aerospace industry.
The Orbital DrillingTM technology enables companies to significantly improve quality and productivity while cutting production costs. The main driving force behind using Orbital DrillingTM is the introduction of new, advanced materials such as carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP), and Titanium, materials in which many companies today are facing great challenges when drilling.
Novator holds a number of patents around the world that are directly related to Orbital Drilling and hole production. Patents relate to methodology, equipment and accessories.
Novator’s headquarter is in Stockholm, Sweden.
